Ontario Soccer is offering Entry Level and Small Sided referee courses in the months leading up to the outdoor summer season.
The Entry Level Referee Course is for those who are 14 years of age (by March 31st of the current year) or older and would like to become an accredited match official. Successful graduates are automatically registered with Ontario Soccer and do not have to register again until the following year.
The Small Sided Game Referee Course is for those who are 12 or 13 years of age (by March 31st of the current year) and would like to become an accredited referee for 5v5 and 7v7 games only. Successful graduates are automatically registered with Ontario Soccer and do not have to register again until the following year.
▪ Please remember to select West Ottawa SC (WOSC) as your club while registering.
▪ Individuals who are 14 years of age (by March 31st of the current year) or older interested to referee both 11v11 and 7v7 games are recommended to only take the Entry Level Course. After graduating the Entry Level Course, they should review the Small Sided Laws of the Game and inform the referee assignor of their interest in officiating both 11v11 and 7v7 games.
▪ A referee who previously completed the Small Sided Course and is interested in “upgrading” to Entry Level shall not complete their annual registration. This fee is included in the Entry Level Course fee. To access the course, the referee must create a new account on https://www.refcentre.com/Ontario/ and must continue to login from that website until they have graduated. The new account must be created with a different email address as their existing RefCentre account.
